Who we are
This website is operated by Özel Boğaziçi Ağız ve Diş Sağlığı Polikliniği (trading internationally as Dental Bosphorus), a licensed oral and dental health polyclinic located at Göztepe Mah. Batışehir Cad. Batışehir G3 Blok No: 6/G, 34200 Bağcılar, Istanbul, Türkiye. For the purposes of data protection law, the clinic is the data controller of the personal data described in this policy.
We process personal data under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, where it applies to visitors and patients from the European Union, the United Kingdom and other jurisdictions, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent legislation.
What data we collect
- Contact details you choose to share with us: your name, phone number and the content of your messages when you contact us on WhatsApp or by phone.
- Health information you voluntarily provide so that we can assess your case: descriptions of your dental situation, photographs, X-rays or scans, and previous treatment history.
- Treatment records created if you become a patient of the clinic, as required by Turkish health legislation.
This website itself is a static page. It does not include contact forms, does not set cookies of its own and does not run analytics or advertising trackers at the time of the last update above. If this changes, this policy and a cookie notice on the site will be updated first.
Health data is special category data
Information about your dental and general health is special category data under Article 6 of the KVKK and Article 9 of the GDPR. We process it only to evaluate your case, to plan and provide treatment, and to meet our legal record-keeping obligations as a licensed health institution, and only with your explicit consent where the law requires it. Sharing your health information with us before a consultation is always voluntary.
Why we process your data
- To answer your enquiry and prepare an indicative treatment plan and quotation.
- To plan, provide and follow up dental treatment if you become a patient.
- To meet legal obligations that apply to licensed health institutions in Türkiye, including patient record retention and mandatory complication insurance for surgical procedures.
- To communicate with you about appointments, travel arrangements and aftercare.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
WhatsApp and third-party services
Our first channel of contact is WhatsApp (+90 555 156 05 05). WhatsApp is a service of WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. and Meta Platforms; messages you send there are also subject to WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. This website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google servers and transmits your IP address when the page loads. The address link in the footer points to Google Maps, which applies Google's privacy policy once opened.
Where your data is processed
Your data is processed in Türkiye, where the clinic operates. If you contact us from the EU, the UK or elsewhere, you acknowledge that your data will be transferred to and processed in Türkiye. We apply the safeguards required by the KVKK and, for data subjects in the EU and UK, we rely on your explicit consent given by contacting us and on the necessity of the transfer for the performance of pre-contractual steps and treatment you request.
How long we keep it
Enquiry messages that do not lead to treatment are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry. Patient and treatment records are retained for the periods required by Turkish health legislation, after which they are securely deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under Article 11 of the KVKK, and under Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR where it applies, you have the right to know whether we process your data, to request access to it, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request deletion where the legal retention period allows, to object to processing, and to request that your data be transferred to you or to another provider in a portable format. You can exercise these rights by contacting the clinic in writing at the address above or through our WhatsApp line. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK Kurumu) or, for EU and UK residents, with your local supervisory authority.
Cookies
At the time of the last update above, this site sets no cookies. If we introduce analytics, advertising measurement or embedded media that use cookies, we will present a consent banner before any non-essential cookie is set and will list the cookies used in this section.
